Signs and symptoms of a food blockage PDF

Swelling after your surgery temporarily causes the opening inside your bowel to be narrow. The swelling will gradually go away over 4-6 weeks. During this time, some foods may have difficulty passing through your stoma, causing a food blockage. Food blockages can occur from eating too much food with high fiber. The blockages can be either partial or complete.
